ABOUT THE COURSE
This course provides the needed knowledge and practical skills to safely handle, transport and store new flammable or mildly flammable low GWP refrigerants and how to safety install and service systems that use them.
Pre-Requisites:
General knowledge and practical experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration field.
Discussion Topics:
Refrigerant Safety and Awareness. Properties, regulations, and standards. General security measures. Transportation and handling of refrigerant cylinders. Safe procedures for recovery, evacuate, charging, leak test and brazing. Low GWP A2Ls refrigerants. Safety considerations. Field procedures. System installation. Mitigation requirements. Piping requirements. Pressure testing requirements.
Objectives:
- Provide participants with needed knowledge and hands-on training to safely handle flammable and mildly flammable refrigerants.
- Prepare participants for the Low GWP Refrigerant Safety Certification exam.
