ABOUT THE COURSE
This certification shows that technicians have sufficient HVAC training and knowledge to handle refrigerants in compliance with section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
The Clean Air Act attempts to minimize release of chemicals into the atmosphere by maximizing the recovery and recycling of refrigerants during service, repair, or disposal of air conditioning units.
The exam is based on trade specific information pertaining to materials, tools, equipment, refrigerants practices, terminology and relevant laws. It is a 3-hour, closed book examination.
Obtaining the EPA 608 Technician Certification is a milestone in the journey to becoming an HVAC professional. This course prepares students for all three types of the EPA 608 Certification exam plus the core.
