DESCRIPTION
This is a tutorial for coding and billing students/professionals interested in taking the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam administered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).This review will focus on the six areas featured in the examination : Clinical Classification Systems, Reimbursement Methodologies, Health Records and Data Content, Compliance, Information Technologies, Confidentiality and Privacy.
OBJECTIVES
- • To go over study strategies to gain insight of the CCA exam
• To apply the appropriate service guidelines codes (CPT,HCPCS, ICD-10-CM) to a variety of cases in different healthcare coding scenarios
• To apply the appropriate ICD-10-CM guidelines and assign specific diagnostic codes to cases in different healthcare coding scenarios
• To ascertain and apply appropriate service modifiers in different healthcare coding scenarios
• To use encoders (3M and Quadramed Quantim) in the assignment of service and diagnostic codesParticipation in this seminar alone does not guarantee a passing score on the CCA examination
Participants will be guided through the exam application and registration process
