EPA 608 Certification Exam Preparation

ABOUT THE COURSE

This course prepares students to sit for all three types of the EPA 608 Certification exam plus the core. This certification shows that technicians have sufficient HVAC training and knowledge to handle refrigerants in compliance with section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

The Clean Air Act attempts to minimize release of refrigerants into the atmosphere by maximizing the recovery and recycling of refrigerants during service, repair, or disposal of air-condition units. The exam is based on trade- specific information pertaining to materials, tools, equipment, refrigerants practices, terminology and relevant laws. It is a 3-hour, closed book examination.

Obtaining the EPA 608 Technician Certification is a milestone in the journey to becoming an HVAC professional.

Goals

The goal of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills to perform a correct and accurate handling of refrigerants, with a clear understanding of EPA procedures and standards in order to successfully complete the certification.

  • It is recommended to have some technical background in order to understand the terminology.
  • As per EPA definition this course is intended for Technicians.
